This December 2005, my husband and I
experienced a wonderful time in Vietnam.
We planned our travels with a local
agency, Highlights Tour also info@vietnamtour.org.
All our requests were fulfilled and
everything ran so smoothly. The planning
was all done online with Mr. Jimmy.
Highly recommend.

The trip was wonderful! Everything was executed very well. The
cars-the drivers- the guides all showed up
when they were suppose to. The hotels were very good--enjoyed the
Oscar for the end and the WIn Hotel
in the beginning were really great as were the ones in Danang and
the Hoi An one!! The others still had lovely accommodating staff as
did all the hotels and the locations were great!
Quy was fantastic...so lively, knowledgeable, familiar with the
surroundings, willing to go the extra mile and really listened to
what I would like to do and learn, was punctual and a person of his
word.... an all around fantastic guide! He knew when to leave you
alone and when to be there and he was always available. At the
airport he was with me till I got thru security...I highly recommend
him!! (I have "lost" (misplaced after all this traveling ) his card
with email and would appreciate you forwarding it to me as I
promised him some info and would like to thank him myself!!
Other then that all other were fine...no problems and I had a ball!!
Thanks tons and I will recommend you ALWAYS!!!

Sorry it's taken us so
long to write. Things are always busy upon returning
home.
The accommodations and
the van were just excellent. We were really pleased
with the professionalism of both drivers. We felt very
safe with them. The guide in the North, Tuan, was
great. He gave us a lot of information about the
country and his English was very good.
In the South, our
Guide, Chuong, was very knowledgeable. His English was
not so good and sometimes we had a hard time
understanding each other. However; he did really bring
us to many interesting places. He tried very hard to
please us and showed us much that was not on the
itinerary. I think that the guides and the drivers
helped to show us a lot of Vietnam that we would never
have experienced on our own. They were very concerned
about our well-being. We even met Chuong's family and
had supper with them and that was a nice touch. We were
very pleased. They were always on time and eager to
start the day.
On the negative side,
the bicycles for the guides were heavy and they had a
hard time keeping up with us sometimes as our bikes were
lighter and ride smoother and easier. Personally, I
would have liked to cycle more and be in the van less
but that would depend on your customer I guess. There
happened to be a lot of road construction so maybe we
could have cycled more once the roads are more
developed.
We very much enjoyed
Vietnam. It's a beautiful country and the people were
generally warm and friendly. We loved the food! The
guides were so good at ordering us lunches that were
excellent and allowed us to taste the regional dishes.
We had lots to eat too - they made sure of that.
It was great when we
were able to cycle out in the countryside away from a
lot of the city traffic. Although, it was certainly a
thrill for us to cycle in Hanoi as we are not used to
the number of motorbikes and mopeds so it was really
exciting in a crazy sort of way.
We enjoyed the history,
visiting some of the museums and the cu chi tunnels and
the prison in Hanoi.
We especially liked
seeing people in the rural areas do some of their daily
tasks, making rice paper, weaving mats, making pottery,
harvesting rice - rice farming practices, tropical fruit
crops and just day to day life as it's so different in
Canada.
Nha Trang (boat
ride/snorkeling and cycling in the countryside), Hoi An
and Hanoi (the pottery village and the water puppets and
the shopping streets in Old Hanoi) were some of our
favorite areas. We also really enjoyed the North and
see the rural areas there and how it's so different from
the south. You might want to warn people if it's
winter, as we weren't prepared for the cool
temperatures. AFter a while, we had seen plenty of
temples - and were happy to see other things.

Tropicana Resort was a good place to

My wife and me would like to express our gratitude for the excellent organization of our tour. We are fully satisfied. All our expectations for this trip have been fulfilled except some health problems of my wife in Sapa for 2 days. But this was not your responsibility. All the guides were helpful and very competent explaining highlights and events of Vietnamese people, country and history. The drivers were excellent and we admired their art of driving in for Europeans, let's say, chaotic traffic in Vietnam. The hotels were excellent and well chosen.
So, over all we enjoyed the tour very much.
Finally one request: Can you send me name and address of our guide in Sapa and Dien Bien Phu. I noticed it, but I cannot find it anymore and I promised him to send him some photographs.

TO TRAVELLER !
My wife and myself ordered a three weeks tour to Vietnam and Cambodia for April 2006 through "Highlights Travel Co" Hanoi. We had the intension to get acquainted with the country, their people and ethnics, their history and culture as far as this is possible within such a short time. For Cambodia only a short visit of Phnom Penh and some days for Angkor and its main temples was planned.
The whole tour was excellently organized by Highlights Travel Co. To overcome the large distances we mostly used the aircrafts. We had absolutely no problem with domestic flights. The English speaking local guides were friendly and very competent explaining culture and history of the country.
We admired the drivers for their diligence to overcome the for Europeans as chaotic appearing traffic in the cities. The hotels all were excellent and very well chosen concerning site and design.
So, over all, we enjoyed the tour very much and were fully enthusiastic and satisfied.

I just want to thank you for the great tour that you organized for us in Vietnam and Cambodia. All the hotels were excellent and so were the guides and drivers. Every time we had to be picked up to go to the airport, the drivers were always on time or early and when we arrived in a new city the guides or driver was always there to meet us.
Three exceptional guides were Tran Huu Van in Ho Chi Minh City and Trinh Thanh Vinh in Hue and Hoi An and the guide we had in Hanoi whose name I can’t remember.
These guides really knew a lot about Vietnam and their particular areas but also their English was very easy for us to understand. I think Vinh was probably the best guide we had.
The Zephyr Hotel in Hanoi (you recommended it) was very well located and I would recommend this hotel more than Sunway because of the location. The rooms were good and so were the staff and breakfasts. I would stay here again.
In Dalat I chose the Empress Hotel because of its location but next time I would stay at the Novotel because the restaurant at the Empress is small and in the morning at breakfast guests would eat outside in the courtyard. Sometimes this was very early in the morning and it woke us up.
In Siem Reap the Preah Kanh Hotel lost our booking so they put us into the Apsara Hotel which was very good.
I would be happy to recommend Vietnam Highlight Tours to any Australians who want to go to Vietnam and Cambodia. If you have emails from Australian tourists you can give them my phone number and John and I would be very happy to recommend your company. My phone number is Australia 03 5974 2671.

Dear Jimmy,
On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for organizing our trip in Vietnam and Cambodia. We enjoyed it very much and we had a pleasant stay in both countries. The highlights from our trip were Ha Long Bay Boat Cruise and Angkor Wat Temples.
We did not expect to board on a private junk boat which was very clean with good service from all the crew members. The meals set up on board was excellent and lucky we caught enough squid the night before so that we could enjoy the squid balls for our next lunch. We were lucky that on the day of our cruise, the weather was a little bit cloudy so it was cool during the day and a little bit cold during the night.
Victoria Can Tho Resort is the best. We had a good time there as well.
Our next highlight was Siem Reap. Sethy, our local tour guide, is a funny guy and he has a good knowledge about the history of all the magnificent temples of Angkor. He also recommended some nice restaurants. One place I remember is Khmer Kitchen which serves local Cambodian food at a reasonable price.
I will certainly recommend your company to my friends in Indonesia for their next trip.
